“Our business would not have been able to grow as fast as we have without the help of Craft52. When Dave & Matt Vans first partnered with Craft52 in late 2019, we were a small start-up just getting off the ground. In under two years, we increased our sales revenue by almost 2000% while barely needing to increase our sales staff due to the highly efficient sales pipeline that Craft52 helped us to build.”

The Backstory

Dave & Matt Vans came to Craft52 because they needed to get their marketing engines to fire on all cylinders—without blowing a financial gasket.

It all started with a simple website.

Dave and Matt came to us in late 2019 with a straightforward request—give them a more professional presence online while retaining their homegrown roots.

As the website project wrapped, they tapped us for another assignment: helping them find technical solutions to generate more leads and customers. They were looking to scale production and sales by about 150% in the coming year—and they wanted to make it as automated as possible.

Normally a project like this would be a fully custom build—however, with some hard work and creative thinking, we were able to keep come up with a workable and affordable solution using readily available software, like

  • Typeform for the custom van builder.
  • Klaviyo for automated sales nurturing & customer service emails.
  • Shopify store for ecommerce, customer deposit collection, and van build scheduling.

This entire ecosystem connected with the company’s Salesforce customer management system, and we were able to track and monitor every customer across every interaction.

It became the year of the MVP: Minimum Viable Product, meet Most Valuable Player. While our system wasn’t custom or fancy by any means, it worked—and it provided a customer experience unrivaled in the custom camper van space. Customers loved it and it paid off—they ended up beating annual sales goals by 277%

Thanks to this MVP customer acquisition system, Dave & Matt Vans was able to load test their core business concept and realize the true demand for their vans—which turned out to be significantly larger than they expected.

“The Dave & Matt Vans mantra of “everything you need and nothing you don’t” has became an overriding theme for everything we did for this project—and it aligns perfectly with the “Keep It Simple. Do Good Work” credo we have at Craft52. It’s always great when things work—and it’s even better when it doesn’t overcomplicate the process.”

Client Q&A

What was the main reason you chose to work with Craft52?

From our initial meeting with Kevin and Jonathan we could tell that they understood our brand, wanted to learn more in order to do their best work, and they were fully prepared to do that work.

What has been the most enjoyable part of the process so far?

The most enjoyable part about working with Craft52 is working with good people who care a lot about their work.

What have been some unexpected outcomes of our work together?

I’d have to say the most unexpected outcome of our work together has been the amount of compliments we receive about our website.  It seems to be almost daily that someone mentions to us how much they enjoy building their custom Dave & Matt Van through the platform designed and built by Craft52.

How did your partnership with Craft 52 help build/improve/evolve your business?

Our business would not have been able to grow as fast as we have without the help of Craft52.  When Dave & Matt Vans first partnered with Craft52 in late 2019, we were a small start-up just getting off the ground.  In under two years, we increased our sales revenue by almost 2000% while barely needing to increase our sales staff due to the highly efficient sales pipeline that Craft52 helped us to build.
